World renowned sculptor Gé Pellini is in Windhoek crafting a rhino from a nine-tonne block of Namibian marble.
The sculpture was initially started upside down and flipped over on Monday at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre where Pellini and a local crew of art students are busy working on the master piece.
The sculptor lauded the high quality of Namibian marble as it withstood some extreme pressure during the turning process.
The Namibia Professional Hunting Association (NAPHA) will be joining forces with Namibian and international conservation groups as well as the international hunting community to host a gala dinner and live auction on the 31st of August at the Windhoek Country Club Resort to raise funds towards further anti-poaching initiatives.
The unique work of art by Pellinil will be the main lot on the auction block for the event.
